The Moon’s Visit to the Garden

a story for little ears and gentle hearts
🌙

Every night, the moon looked down at a small garden nestled between two hills. She saw the flowers closing their petals, the stream whispering softly, and the trees standing still in the silver light.

She loved the garden — but she was far away, a world apart.

One night, the moon decided to visit.

Not with her full light, not with her grand glow — but with a single, quiet beam of silver, soft as a thought.

The beam travelled down, through the cool air, and landed gently on the garden’s heart.

“Who is there?” whispered a small flower.

“It is me,” said the moon. “I have come to see you.”

The flower opened its petals, just a little, and the moonbeam rested inside it.

One by one, the other flowers began to sense the presence. They turned their heads toward the light, and each one shared a quiet secret — of the day they had, the rain they had felt, the bee that had visited them.

The moon listened. She did not speak much. She simply held their stories in her light, like a gentle hand holding small, fragile things.

And when the night began to fade, the moon said:

“I must go — but I will return. I will always return.”

The flowers swayed gently, as if nodding.

And the moonbeam rose, slowly, back into the sky, carrying the garden’s secrets with it — a quiet treasure held in the silver light.

From that night on, the garden never felt alone.

Because the moon visited every single night — not to shine, but to *listen*.
